Alex Dimopoulos

Alex Dimopoulos BSc. (SA), M. Chiro. (SA) CCEP  DC
Doctor of Chiropractic

Alex Dimopoulos graduated from the Durban Institute of Technology (D.I.T), South Africa with a Masters Degree in Chiropractic Sciences in 2002.  He and his wife Gaynor, both with strong British roots, left South Africa and after spending a year in sunny Dublin moved to the UK in 2004.  Alex then practiced as an Associate at the well respected Chelsea and Fulham Chiropractic Clinic, and the Spiro Chiropractic and Sports Injury Centre, in London, expanding his knowledge and experience in family practice and sports management. Whilst searching for a change of environment to start a family, the opportunity to take over the Romsey Chiropractic Clinic presented itself in 2007, and the chance to move to Hampshire was seized.

Alex has completed various post-graduate studies in Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation, including the CCEP (Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner) qualification, but takes a strong interest in managing everyday injuries and strains which result from our stressful modern environment. The arrival of a beautiful baby daughter in 2008, gave Alex first hand experience on promoting maximum comfort during pregnancy, and reaffirmed his belief in the benefit of Chiropractic care in reducing mechanical stress on the pregnant frame.

Having himself suffered whiplash in his early twenties, he understands the discomfort others may be going through when injured, and is an advocate of early intervention and management to achieve the best results.   Alex believes that many injuries, aches and pains are preventable, and is passionate about educating patients on postural and lifestyle factors.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry (Natal University 1996), and enjoys reading, and keeping fit by cycling and pretending to run!

Phil Mitchell

Philip Mitchell   BSc. (Hons)  DC
Doctor of Chiropractic

Philip Mitchell joined the team at the Romsey Chiropractic Clinic in early 2010 after moving to Hampshire from Bristol! He graduated in 2006 with a 1st class honours degree from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in Glamorgan, and for the past three years has worked in a busy City centre clinic in Bristol, whilst also running his own Chiropractic Clinic in Monmouth.

Phil has a special interest in rehabilitation following long term low back and neck pain, and also helping with pain during and after pregnancy.

Knowing the wide range of conditions that can be helped through Chiropractic treatment, Phil is keen to spread the message about the benefits of Chiropractic care and would be happy to give a talk to any groups or clubs you are involved with.

On the social front, Phil is a keen footballer and also likes to swim and play tennis. In 2009 he completed the Bath half marathon and the summer 'Tough Guy' event and he is looking forward to more challenges. These will have to wait however, as Phil and his partner Rosie are delighted with the birth of a baby boy, in March 2010.

Emma Shergold

Emma Shergold – BTech. - Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist

Emma Shergold trained with the London School of Sports Massage to gain a BTEC Diploma in Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy, and is a member of the Institute of Sports & Remedial Massage. This type of massage is a deep tissue manipulation, which helps to realign soft tissue fibres which include muscles, their connective tissue fascia covering and tendons. Many patients find this type of treatment beneficial in complimenting existing Chiropractic treatment, as well as preventing injuries by promoting efficient muscular activity.  Emma firmly believes that reducing strain on muscles and joints whilst re-educating them with challenging stretches, is a winning formula to a healthy body and injury prevention.

Besides her busy clinic schedule, Emma works with London Rowing Club, attending their Regattas, including the Henley Royal Regatta.  Emma provides pre- and post-race massage as well as offering support and advice with regards to warm-up and cool-down exercise and stretch.

Anna Wills

Anna Wills – Massage Therapist

Anna Wills is an experienced massage therapist having completed her studies at Totton College, Southampton, in 2004.  She is qualified to provide Swedish Full Body Massage and Sports Massage and is an active member of the International Council of Holistic Therapists.

Anna believes that massage and the resultant release of muscular adhesion can be helpful when combined with Chiropractic care, especially for those long-standing injuries that seem to linger!  She employs a range of massage techniques which knead and stretch the muscles and its fascia, promoting better muscle fibre alignment and improved circulation.

Anna also works with a professional cycling team which includes some of the top names in British cycling. She was the sports masseuse for the recent Tour of Wessex and also assists marathon runners, ensuring her full support and advice is available throughout all stages, from initial training to the completion of the event.

Anna lives in a converted stable north of Salisbury with her son, a Dalmatian, two guinea pigs and a partially house trained husband!  She is also an accomplished pianist, a hobby that remains a pleasure to this day.
